Texans ready for home finale

By Clay Corbett | Published Wednesday, October 30, 2013

The Northwest Texans took little time to get back on track during their runaway win over Timber Creek last Thursday.

The win put the Texans back in the middle of the playoff race. They can secure at least a third-place finish with victories in their final two games.

The Richland Rebels (3-5, 2-3) take on the Texans (6-2, 3-2) Friday at Northwest ISD Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Richland is coming off a tough 14-7 victory over Keller Central, where they rallied with 14 second-half points for the win. Northwest will have the task of trying to slow down C.J. Hicks, who has rushed for 608 yards, and teammate Stephon Jackson, who has gained 376.

The Texans’ offense came alive Thursday after they jumped out to a 21-3 lead at the half. They put up 246 rushing yards and scored twice on special teams.

Friday is Northwest’s homecoming game.
