Texans going to Lubbock

The Northwest Texans will take several athletes to the Class 5A Region I Track Meet this weekend in Lubbock after their performance at the area meet Friday.

The Texans placed third overall with 77 points, finishing behind first-place Arlington Martin with 126 and second place Southlake Carroll with 104.

The Lady Texans captured fifth with 61.5 points. Southlake took first with 113.

Reggie McDaniel, Chase Morrison, Colton McDonald and Jordan Muldrow advanced in the sprint relay after a second-place finish with a time of 41.91.

Baylee Nelson, Brittanie Anderson, Selasie Koto and Hailey Krieg qualified for regionals after a third-place finish in the 4×200 with a time of 1:42.

The top four Northwest finishers in each event advance to the regional meet.

GIRLS RESULTS

Triple Jump: 6. Selasie Koto, 36-6.

Pole Vault: 1. Desiree Freier, 13-7.

Discus: 2. Kiarra Simpson, 121-0.

Shot: 4. Kiarra Simpson, 35-2.

3200: 3. Kellee McCann, 11:18.

200: 2. Brittanie Anderson, 25.30.

1600: 3. Kellee McCann, 5:02.

BOYS RESULTS

Discus: 2. Duke Kicinski, 164-0.

800: 1. Zach Kirkland, 1:54.

110 hurdles: 3. Kerry Gleason, 15.26.

100: 1. Jordan Muldrow, 10.89; 4. Reggie McDaniel, 11.16.

300 hurdles: 1. Kerry Gleason, 39.41.

200: 4. Chase Morrison, 22.70.
