BRIDGEPORT FOOTBALL CAMPS – Bridgeport will be hosting two one-day football camps this summer. The first is Aug. 1 for boys entering grades 3-6 who will play quarterback, running back or receiver. The camp will also be for incoming ninth graders who will be playing freshman football at Bridgeport. The camp is free and will be held at the Bridgeport practice field 7 to 8:30 p.m. The second camp will be Aug. 6 for boys who will be playing seventh or eighth grade football at Bridgeport. The free camp will also be held at the Bridgeport practice field from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

BRIDGEPORT PHYSICALS – All athletes entering 7th, 9th and 11th grades must have a physical before the first day of practice for their sport. Physicals will be held at the Bridgeport High School Training Room for $20, cash only. Students may also get a UIL physical form from Coach Newsom to have their family doctor perform the physical. All athletes entering 8th, 10th and 12th grades who have had a broken bone, concussion, major illness or surgery within the past year must also have a physical this year. All students are encouraged to get a physical every year. The Bridgeport physicals this year will be given July 30 at the Bridgeport High School Training Room by the Auxiliary Gym with the girls at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 6:45 p.m. For more information please check the BISD web site at c2.bridgeportisd.net.
