{{{*}}}With their backs against the wall, the Bridgeport Sissies found a way to come storming back Tuesday.

After Wichita Falls Hirschi took the first two games, Bridgeport (4-13) rallied to force a game five, but the momentum didn’t last as the Lady Huskies eventually captured the match.

Hirschi downed the Sissies 21-25, 14-25, 25-22, 27-25, 11-15.

“We came out and dropped the first two games, but came back and never stopped fighting,” Bridgeport coach Rebekah Cummings said. “I saw a team fight their way back into the match, and that’s important.”

Bridgeport fell behind early in game one, but kept it close never falling behind more than four points. They got to within 22-20 late, but wouldn’t get any closer.

Hirschi dominated the second game, then Bridgeport fought back in the third.

“This made us tougher, taught us how to fight and I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts,” Cummings said. “We’ll continue to work on finishing rallies quickly, and being smarter ball handlers at the net.”

Tylar Chapa led the way with 14 kills and seven digs. Leah Guinn had 22 digs and four kills. Jessica White added 11 kills, five aces and four blocks.

Elaina Peyton handed out 32 assists.
