Sissies defeat Jacksboro

The Bridgeport Sissies (10-6) split a pair last Thursday at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.

Bridgeport ended the day with a 15-14 win over Jacksboro. There were 11 lead changes in the game. Jacksboro scored 10 in the fifth, but the Sissies scored four runs in the final two innings to pull out the win.

Kensley Turner had the walk-off hit bringing in Hayley Davidson.

Laney Campbell led all batters with three hits and five RBI’s.

In their first game, Bridgeport fell to Holliday, 13-3. The Sissies led 3-2 in the fourth, but gave up 10 runs in the bottom of the inning.

Kensley Turner, Davidson, Shiloh Weirich and Laney Campbell all had one hit each.

On Wednesday the Sissies edged Springtown, 6-5 in eight innings. Sophomore pitcher Hayley Davidson got it done in the circle pitching four innings of shutout ball.

“It took our bats a while to get going, but we got the job done late scoring five runs in the last three innings,” Bridgeport coach Ruben Garza said.

Turner led all batters with two doubles and two RBI’s.
