Sophomore Katey Rowden finished another great season, taking 13th in the 50-yard freestyle in her lone event at the University Interscholastic League swimming championships in Austin Saturday.
Rowden, the only Decatur swimmer to ever make it to the state meet, swam a 25.29.
The sophomore swam 25-flat in the regional finals to advance to state.
Highland Park’s Katie Boyer won the 50 in 23.78 and Anelise Diener of San Antonio Alamo Heights captured second in 23.91. Both swimmers are sophomores.
Rowden capped off another great year after winning a gold, silver and bronze medal at the district meet, along with being named Female Swimmer of the Meet. She also took home gold in the 50-free at regionals.
