For the second straight year, Paradise ran away with the district cross-country crown Monday at Alvord.
The seventh-ranked Lady Panthers captured the championship with 31 points, as they claimed seven of the top 11 spots.
Alvord took second with 51 points, and Boyd finished fifth with 137. The top three teams advance, along with the top 10 finishers. All will move on to the regional meet at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie Nov. 2.
Wise County runners took the top three individual spots.
Paradise’s Aliyah Read placed first overall with a time of 12:41, while Boyd’s Jessica Colbert was second in 12:45 and will be the lone Lady Jacket advancing to regionals. Alvord’s Clara Breashears picked up third place with a time of 12:50.
After Read, Paradise’s next six runners finished in order, taking sixth through 11th places.
Angela Powers was sixth with a time of 12:53, and Makala Neighbors ran seventh in 12:58.
Emily Brinson secured eighth in 12:59. Taylor Richards was Paradise’s fifth runner to cross the finish line, taking ninth with a time of 13:01.
Kaylee McConnell took 10th in 13:17, and April Coursey ran 13:20 for 11th.
Alvord’s Lacey Watkins placed fifth in 12:52. Brooklyn Mitchum clocked a 13:39 for 12th. Lauren Hart secured 15th in 14:02, and Savannah Williams was the Alvord’s fifth runner, finishing in 14:10.
Corey Schlomach claimed 17th in 14:12, and Sarah Nichols finished 23rd in 14:41.
Boyd’s Heather Beauregard placed 26th in 14:50.
Olivia Singleton took 33rd in 15:24 and Savannah Richardson ran 15:44 for 37th. Brianna Morrison was Boyd’s fifth runner to cross, finishing 39th with a time of 15:55.
Lizeth Uribe secured 41st in 16:12 and Limerick Michaela captured 43rd in 16:31.
