{{{*}}}The Paradise Panthers tasted victory Friday night, defeating the Bowie Jackrabbits 13-10.

And a sweet taste it was.

The Panthers (1-5, 1-1) stood toe-to-toe with Bowie (3-4, 1-2) to claim Paradise’s first win since their last district game in 2012. It was also Scott Broussard’s first win since taking over as Paradise’s head coach.

The Panthers drew first blood in the first with a touchdown run by Austin Hogan.

Bowie struck back in the second with a touchdown by Garland McCoy and a field goal by Francisco Flores. The Jackrabbits led 10-7.

The Panthers made a last-ditch effort in the final seconds of the half with Dillon Meadows tossing Cash Preather a 4-yard touchdown to raise the score to 13-10 in Paradise’s favor.

The two teams would slug it out back and forth throughout the last half, but the Panthers were able to stop the Jackrabbits from a comeback, securing victory.

Hogan led both teams in rushing with 14 carries for 92 yards. Preather was the top receiver with 51 yards.
