Lady Jackets split a pair

The No. 25 Brock Eagles proved to be too much for the Boyd Lady Jackets Monday. Boyd (14-9, 4-2) fell 13-3 in five innings.

Boyd held an early 1-0 lead, but Brock scored two in the second and two more in the third to pull away.

Chelsea Arlington took the loss going four innings, giving up seven hits and striking out one. At the plate she had three hits and all three RBI’s.

Savannah Foster and Chandler Hammon each had two hits.

On Friday the Lady Jackets easily got past Paradise (7-12) 17-7 in five innings.

The game was tied 2-2 after the first inning, but Boyd scored a total of nine runs in the next two innings.

Arlington got the win, going all five innings, giving up 11 hits and striking out seven. Tiffany Stinnett took the loss for Paradise.

Foster led Boyd with four hits, including two homers, and six RBI’s. Gabby Saldivar had a homerun and four RBI’s. Hammon ended with three hits and four RBI’s.

Jett Preather had three RBI’s for Paradise.
