Slidell picked up their second straight district win Friday with a 32-24 win over Forestburg.

The Lady Hounds (7-5, 2-0) scored 18 in the first quarter, but went cold from there on. Forestburg cut the deficit to two with six minutes left, but two 3-pointers down the stretch allowed Slidell to pull away.

On Thursday, Slidell (6-5, 1-0) outscored Midway 11-2 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 42-28 win.

“You could tell we hadn’t played or practiced since last Wednesday, but it’s a district win,” Slidell coach Cody Vanover said.

Caitlin Pruett finished with a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Kylie Franklin added 14.

Marisol Millan tossed in three.

Slidell heads to Bellevue Friday.
