Slidell had a dreadful first quarter and was unable to recover against Prairie Valley Friday in their annual homecoming game.
Prairie Valley picked up their fourth district victory with a 56-42 win.
Slidell outscored the Lady Bulldogs 24-17 in the next two quarter but could never get any closer than six points.
“We did not handle ourselves well in the first quarter and dug a hole that ultimately we could not dig out of,” Slidell coach Cody Vanover said. “We managed to get within six at the end of the third quarter, but could not convert to make it a one possession game.”
Free throws also hurt the Lady Hounds as they finished the night 14 for 30.
Homecoming queen winner Ashton Stroope led the way with 14, and Caitlin Pruett had 10. Kylie Franklin added eight. Marisol Millan tossed in six, and Jessy Goode chipped in four.
