After an impressive showing at the area meet Thursday, the Decatur Lady Eagles will send 10 athletes to the Class 3A Region II meet in Commerce April 26-27.
Decatur took fourth with 81 points. Frisco Lone Star won the overall title with 148.
Nicole Neighbors and Briana Compton both advanced to regionals in three different events.
Compton took second in the long jump and triple jump. She also helped the 4×200 team come away with a fourth-place finish.
Compton, Jaclyn Hicks, Yanika Rivas and Brooklyn Bedford had a time of 51.36.
Neighbors dominated in the hurdles once again. With two runners falling beside her in the 110 hurdles, she kept her composure with a second-place finish in a time of 15.96. Teammate Macen Stripling was right behind in third, finishing in 16.46.
Neighbors then took the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.09.
The mile-relay team of Neighbors, Bailey Berry, Haley Dennard and Marrissa Muehlstein took fourth with a time of 4:14.
Dennard pulled away for another first-place finish in the 800 meters.
Jessica Kyle qualified for regionals in the pole vault with a height of 7-6, good enough for fourth.
The top four finishers in each event qualify for the regional meet.
Long Jump: 1. Brianna Compton, 16-5.5.
Triple Jump: 1. Briana Compton, 35-0.
High Jump: 5. Macen Stripling; 5. Bailey Berry.
Pole Vault: 4. Jessica Kyle, 7-6; 5. Darci Billmire, 7-6.
800: 1. Haley Dennard, 2:24; 5. Jessica Kyle, 2:28.
100 hurdles: 2. Nicole Neighbors, 15.96; 3. Macen Stripling, 16.46.
100: 5. Yanira Rivas, 13.21.
400: 5. Martinez, 1:03; 6. Haley Dennard, 1:04.
300 hurdles: 1. Nicole Neighbors, 47.09; 6. Macen Stripling, 50.78.
