The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches recently recognized the Lady Bulldogs in a couple of categories, including free throws and point awards.

Alvord received top honors in both categories. Their team free throw percentage of 74 percent was the tops in all of Class 2A.

Carley King’s 116 three-pointers led Class 2A.

She has also been selected to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association All-Star game in Austin on July 12.

Head coach Rob Schmucker picked up the Dean Weese Outstanding Coach Award from the TABC for the 2012-2013 season. This award is also handed out in each classification.

“I give all the credit to the players and my assistant coaches,” Schmucker said. “Without them the season would not have been so successful and enjoyable.”
