Led by Clara Breashears, the Alvord Lady Bulldogs braved hot weather and a tough course to finish tenth at the Denton Camp Copass run Friday.

Alvord had a total of 224 points. Northwest won the meet with 29.

Northwest’s Kellee McCann won the individual title with a time of 19:26. McCann’s teammate Katherine Chavez took second in 20:04.

Breashears finished 23rd to lead Alvord with a time of 22:42. Lacey Watkins was right behind in 24th with time of 22:50.

“Our kids ran hard on a very difficult course,” Alvord coach Curtis Enis said. “The distance was probably a little longer than a true 5K, but it was a good meet for us to train on.”

Lauren Hart took 60th in 24:32 and Brooklyn Mitchum was 65th in 24:40.

Corey Schlomach ran 24:46 good for 70th. Sarah Nichols placed 96th in 26:44 and Savannah Williams was 98th in 27:19.
