The Bulls could not a contain the hot shooting from Gainesville Friday, as the Leopards hit nine 3-pointers on their way to a 70-53 victory.
Bridgeport (13-13, 0-3) cut the game to ten points late in the third quarter, but Gainesville connected on a half-court shot at the buzzer to expand their lead back to 13 heading to the fourth quarter.
The Bulls never got any closer than eight after that.
“We played our best district game tonight from a confidence standpoint and we did a good job of not turning the ball over and we shot the ball well from the 3-point line,” Bridgeport coach Brian Miller said. “We did a good job challenging shots and taking away their drives, but they [Gainesville] had the hot hand.”
Blake Arrington led the way with 15, and Alex Samples added 12. Stephen Howdeshell chipped in 11. Reese Read scored eight and Derrick Stanford tossed in seven.
