Eagles race to gold; Decatur’s Taylor Clayton claims top spot

{{{*}}}Three Decatur Eagles took the top five spots in Class 3A-and-under division of the annual Reunion Run at Joe Wheeler Park Saturday.

Led by Taylor Clayton’s first-place finish, the Eagles also had Brandon Rivera take third and Tyler Wilson fifth. All Decatur runners finished in the top 15.

Decatur finished with 34 points, and Boyd claimed second with 76. Slidell was eighth with 177.

Clayton dominated the competition with a time of 15:47. Lindsay’s John Price was second in 16:53.

Rivera claimed third with a time of 17:14, and Wilson took fifth in 17:27.

Austin Poole ran 18:06 for 12th, and Riley Keller placed 13th in 18:11. Joaquin Aldape finished 14th in 18:12, and Juan Gamino secured 15th in 18:12.

Boyd’s Aaron Hammett led the Yellowjackets with a ninth-place finish in 17:55. Marco Martinez ran 17:57 for tenth, and Jose Martinez took 17th in 18:14.

Cameron Hammett ran 18:25 for 18th, and Nathan Martinez secured 22nd in 18:38. Aaron Roberts-Wright placed 44th with a time of 20:07.

Khristian Talamantes led the Slidell Greyhounds with a 21st-place finish in 18:33. Kyler Carnes claimed 28th in 18:58.

Shelby Vanover placed 31st in 19:05, and Heydon Crane picked up 47th in 20:26. Colton Crane ran 20:49 for 50th.
