Eagles pick up 2 of 3 at tourney

The Decatur Eagles closed out the Mineral Wells Tournament with a 7-0 win over Castleberry Saturday. The Eagles (3-6) scored four runs in the second and two more in the third to seal the game.

Clayton Egle picked up the win going five innings – giving up four hits and striking out six.

Michael Hicks had two hits and two RBI’s. Drew Edwards had a hit and three RBI’s.

On Friday, Azle downed Decatur, 14-4. Seven errors hurt the Eagles. Johnny Murillo took the loss on the mound, and Hicks led the offense with a couple of singles and two RBI’s.

In the tournament opener, Decatur rolled over Springtown 12-2. The Eagles jumped out to a 4-2 lead and scored at least one run in every inning but the fifth.

Christian Carrillo had four hits and two RBI’s. Egle, Joey Cantu and Dewey Dovel each had two hits.
