Eagles finish 8th at Terrell Fall Classic

{{{*}}}The 15th-ranked Decatur Eagles shot a 341 to capture eighth at the Tour 18 Golf Course in Flower Mound Tuesday.

Aledo took the overall team title with a 324.

Sophomore Drew Jones, currently the fourth-ranked player in Class 3A, led Decatur with one-under 71 to capture the individual title.

Bryce Elder finished third among No. 5 players on each team. Elder fired an 87 to pick up the bronze medal in that category.

The tournament was hosted by Terrell, and the large field consisted of 95 players from across north and east Texas.

Brenden Kerby shot an 89, Charlie Shannon shot a 94 and Nick Trachta turned in a 96.

The Eagle medalists were led by Dawson Thompson with a 103. Hayden Bennett fired a 105 and Harris Lawson penciled a 111.
