Eagles edge Argyle for title

Decatur nipped Argyle 58-52 Saturday at the Whataburger Tournament to take the consolation championship.

After losing their first-round game, the Eagles rolled off three straight wins.

Cain Lowe led the way against Argyle with 13 and Taylor Clayton added 12. Paul Walker tossed in 10.

In the semifinals Decatur slipped past Mexia 66-62.

Austin Givens finished with 20 and Paul Walker scored 14. Clayton tossed in 10.

Decatur cruised through their second round game with a 67-50 victory over Stephenville.

Lowe had 21 and Phillip Walker finished with 12.

Decatur hosts Burkburnett Friday.
