It took extra innings, but the No. 5 Bridgeport Bulls (19-4, 4-1) lost their first district game Friday, 4-2 to Krum.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first, but the Bulls fought back in the second when Erik Delgadillo laid down a squeeze for their first run.
Omar Martinez homered in the fourth to tie the game at 2-2.
Martinez relieved Reese Read in the fourth, and pitched five innings of no-hit ball in a losing effort.
“We had our opportunities to win the game, but couldn’t come through against a great pitcher,” Bridgeport coach Ted Leps said. “Both our pitchers did a great job tonight, but in the end Krum made the plays. We just have to keep taking care of business and see how we come out at the end of the season.”
The Bulls will travel to Decatur Friday.
