Boyd takes two

The Boyd Lady Jackets (7-3) split four games at the rain shortened NCTC Tournament over the weekend.

Dodd City edged Boyd in their finale, 6-5. Dodd City took a 4-0 lead at the end of the first inning and held that lead until the fourth. Boyd scored four in the top of the inning to take a 5-4 lead, but Dodd City scored two in the bottom of the fourth to take the game.

Savannah Foster had three hits to lead the offense.

Callisburg took down Boyd, 4-1 on Friday. Chandler Hammon took the loss, while the Boyd offense struggled with just two hits.

Boyd edged Dodd City in the second game of the tournament, 3-2. Chelsea Arlington picked up the win in the circle. Britney Howard and Gabby Saldivar each had two hits to lead the offense.

In the opener, the Lady Jackets got past Byron Nelson, 3-1. Arlington pitched her way to the win, while Howard led the offense with two RBI’s.
