The Boyd Lady Jackets (19-11) upended the Bridgeport Sissies (7-24) Saturday at Boyd in four games.
Boyd took the match 21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-11.
“It’s great to have a solid victory headed into district,” Boyd coach Dusty Crafton said. “We know we have a tough road ahead of us, and hopefully we can lean on the positive experiences and hard work we have put in to pull us through.”
Marley McCune led Boyd with 11 kills, and Britney Howard had eight digs. Baylie Harris handed out 18 assists, and Maddie Busch recorded 24 blocks.
“I like what I saw in the first game, but we didn’t play smart for the rest of the match,” Bridgeport coach Rebekah Cummings said. “Our passing was inconsistent, and our hitters did not take care of the ball. Volleyball is a game of mistakes, and we made too many.”
Jessica White had nine kills, two blocks and two aces for the Sissies. Leah Guinn added 16 digs.
Tylar Chapa secured five digs and four kills. Kayla Henson recorded six kills and seven digs.
Taylor Emola came away with seven digs and seven aces.
Elaina Peyton handed out 22 assists and had 13 digs.
Bridgeport opens district play at home against Gainesville Friday, while the Lady Jackets open league play on the road at Millsap.
