Boyd 14, Alvord 6

The Boyd Lady Jackets used a nine-run fifth inning to pull away from Alvord Tuesday, on their way to a 14-6 win.

Alvord (14-6, 2-2) held a 2-1 lead before Boyd (13-8, 3-1) exploded in the fifth. The Lady Bulldogs would score four in the bottom of the inning, but would come up empty in the final two frames.

Savannah Foster had four hits and three RBI’s to lead the Boyd offense. Britney Howard, Gabby Saldivar and Kallie Tyner all had three hits and two RBI’s.

Chelsea Arlington picked up the win in the circle and also provided two hits and two RBI’s.

She pitched all seven innings, giving up five earned runs on 10 hits, and striking out six.

Boyd will travel to Brock Monday while Alvord will host Ponder.
