Benedict notches 200th win

With a two-game sweep of Fossil Ridge at the Arlington Invitational over the weekend, Decatur coach Claire Benedict picked up her 200th career victory.

The No. 7 Decatur Lady Eagles (11-6) disposed of Fossil Ridge 25-19, 25-10.

Makayla Mayfield had 11 kills and six digs. Cooper Martin added five kills and seven digs.

Stormi Leonard handed out 20 assists.

Benedict now stands with 201 wins after another win Saturday.

Also during the tournament Decatur fell to Coppell 22-25, 21-25. They defeated the Carroll JV 25-22, 26-24.

The Carroll varsity took down the Lady Eagles, 24-26, 10-25. Decatur swept Amarillo 25-23, 25-21.

Waxahachie edged the Lady Eagles, 14-25, 20-25, and Plano East slipped past Decatur 17-25, 29-31.
