LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Thanks to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office

{{{*}}}Earlier this year one of our employees locked her keys in her car. I called the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, and a deputy was there in 15 minutes and had the keys out of the car in five minutes.

A week ago I was in Wichita Falls and locked my keys in the car while visiting a business there. I called the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office and was told they did not help with that and I should call the police department. The Wichita Falls police dispatcher said they only assist with that if a small child or animal is in the car. My wife had to drive from Chico to rescue me.

Today I called the Sheriff’s Office for permission to use my burn barrel (I always call before I burn), and the dispatcher was polite and asked the necessary questions associated with my location and told me to be sure and call if I had any problems with the burn.

We are lucky to have a Sheriff’s department that actually cares about the citizens here. Next time you see a deputy in a patrol car give a friendly wave to let them know you appreciate them.
