Mirella Dorado, 18, of Decatur is the daughter of Abel and Amelia Dorado. She represents Paradise FCCLA.
Mirella is the parliamentarian for her chapter and has been an FCCLA member for four years. She has also been a cheerleader for three years, serving as cheer captain this year.
She’s been in the Spanish Club for three years and her favorite subject is math. She’s interested in nursing, and this year she organized a blood drive and helped with a canned food drive. She was also named favorite for child development.
Mirella enjoys assisting the elderly, working with children and spending time with her family. She also likes watching baseball and football, playing tennis, working out and riding horses.
Her favorite friend is Savanah Smith.
Ashley Edge, 18, of Alvord is the daughter of Kara Johnson. She represents Alvord FCCLA.
Ashley is president of her chapter this year, and she served as FCCLA reporter her sophomore year. She is also a member of Spanish Club, National Honor Society and Student Council.
This year she is Student Council president and NHS secretary. She served as Student Council event coordinator her junior year and was freshman class president.
Her favorite sport is cheerleading, and her favorite subject is math. Ashley has won the following awards: English 1, English 2, Interior Design, Algebra 2, Track Most Improved and All-American Cheerleader.
Last year she won grand champion at the Youth Fair with her decorated cupcakes.
Ashley enjoys hanging out with friends, eating, cooking and dancing. She also teaches a second grade class at church and assists in the kindergarten through third grade classes.
She plans to major in psychology when she goes to college next year.
Ashley’s favorite friend is her little sister, Emily.
“Even though we fight, she is the one person I know will always be there for me,” she said. “She cracks me up, and I love her.”
