One man was flown to Texas Health Fort Worth Monday evening after a one-vehicle accident on County Road 4925 south of Rhome.

Jaskavan Dhillon, 41, of Fort Worth was speeding northbound on County Road 4925 about 4:20 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, according to DPS Trooper Zeb Siebenick.

Dhillon’s pickup veered to the right, overcorrected to the left and then rolled through a barbed-wire fence. It struck a tree and landed on its side in a muddy cow pasture. Dhillon was trapped in the vehicle, pinned between the collapsed roof and the steering wheel. Members of the Rhome Volunteer Fire Department had to peel off the roof to free him from the crumpled cab.

Trooper Siebeneck said synthetic marijuana and alcohol were found in the vehicle.

Although Dhillon suffered serious injuries, he was in stable condition at the scene. No passengers were in the pickup.
