RV clubs to show trailers at festival

By Messenger Staff | Published Wednesday, September 11, 2013

RV club members plan to attend the 2013 Paradise Main Street Festival Saturday, Sept. 28, and give tours of their recreational vehicles. Locals Joyce Armstrong Smith, Mendy Archer and Shirley Richey are all members of two RV clubs – Sisters on the Fly and the Getaway Gals. Sisters on the Fly is a national group of happy women who travel all over the United States in a caravan of decorated vintage trailers.

This cavalcade of “ladies on the run” gather up several times a year and hit the fishing holes and by-ways to spend time around campfires, campgrounds, dude ranches, rivers, lakes and trails.

The Getaway Gals is a more local group of ladies and their trailers who hail from the southern states of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Some members of both groups will happily play hostess to those attending the festival. They love to show their “stuff” and give tours of their mini-getaway RVs.
