Parks and airport talk dominate the relatively short agenda for the Bridgeport City Council meeting Tuesday.
After proclaiming Aug. 11 as Underground Damage Prevention Day and swearing in newly appointed Jimmy Meyers to the council, elected officials will consider an amendment to airport regulations regarding residency in the hangars.
Officials will also consider a dedication instrument and aviation easement to proceed with the runway extension project at the city’s airport. The engineering phase has been completed, and construction is expected to begin in November or December.
They will consider extending an agreement with Wise County Pee Wee Football Association for use of the fields at Lawdwin Park and will discuss amending the rules and regulations at the park, including those related to pets and smoking, both of which are currently allowed.
