Department of Public Safety Trooper Beau Bridgeman said Mesler was westbound on the county road when he apparently went off the side of the road at a slight curve, lost control of the bike and crashed into a ditch.

Mesler was tossed from the bike as it rolled.

Bridgeman said it appears Mesler was traveling at an unsafe speed. He said Mesler sustained injuries to his head, but the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
