Republican candidate list is growing

The filing period for the 2014 primary election opened Nov. 9, and Republican Party Chairman Allen Williamson said a total of 16 candidates had filed as of Wednesday.

The most notable is suspended commissioner, Terry Ross, who is seeking a fourth term in Precinct 4. (See story on page 1.)

Candidates and the dates they filed are listed below. Incumbents have an “(I)” next to their name.

District Judge John Fostel is seeking re-election and has filed with the Republican Party of Texas.

The Messenger has not been notified of anyone that has filed with the Democratic Party.

The deadline to file for 2014 primary elections is Monday, Dec. 9.
