CLAY SHOOT – The 6th Annual Barnett Shale Sporting Clay Shoot benefitting the Bridgeport Visitor Center is Thursday, April 25, at Northwest OHV Park, 2914 Texas 101, in Bridgeport. There will be a morning flight at 9 a.m. and afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon. Fee is $100 per person or $500 for a five-man team. SPECIAL NEEDS BASEBALL – Registration for the Wise County Special Needs Baseball spring season is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Bridgeport and Decatur public libraries. Games are 9 a.m. to noon April 6 to May 25 at Renshaw Park in Decatur.

WISE DEMOCRATS – Wise County Democrats will meet 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the Wise County Courthouse second-floor courtroom to nominate members to committee positions.

CANCER SURVIVORS – Local cancer survivors and caregivers are encouraged to register with Relay For Life of Wise County. Those registered will be invited to a dinner Thursday, April 18, and will be honored during opening ceremonies of the all-night walking event Friday, May 17. MEN AGAINST ABUSE – Wise County men who would like to take a visible stand against domestic violence are invited to a rally 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Wise County Courthouse. For more information, call Gerre Joiner at 940-393-8863 or Wise Hope 940-626-4855.

HOME AND GARDEN – Wise County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting a Spring Home and Garden Series starting later this month. The four-week program is 3 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday, starting March 26 and running through April 16, at the Extension office in Decatur, 206 S. State St. Cost is $40 for the entire series or $15 per seminar. Topics that will be addressed include vegetable gardening, fruit and nut tree management, turf management and landscape trees. IDENTITY THEFT WORKSHOP – DATCU Credit Union will offer a workshop on identity theft prevention 12:25 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in the lecture hall at Weatherford College Wise County.

RELAY BAKE SALE – The Jimmie and Vickie’s Angels Relay For Life team will have a bake sale 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 30 in front of Main Street Mall, 103 W. Main in Decatur. For information call (940) 627-3929.

CLUB SCHOLARSHIP – The Desk and Derrick Club of Wise County is offering scholarships to Wise County high school seniors. Applications can be obtained from the high school counselors or by emailing Crystal Watkins at Crystal.Watkins@dvn.com. Application deadline is Saturday, March 30.

PAYING IT FORWARD FOR PROM – Donations of formal dresses, shoes, jewelry and cash are being collected at Patti’s Hair Parlor in Decatur through March for the second drive of Paying It Forward for Prom. Through the program, girls who couldn’t otherwise afford prom expenses volunteer community service hours in exchange for formal wear and accessories, hair-do’s, manicures and pedicures, facials and make-up application. This year, the program will expand to help boys with the cost of tuxedo rental. For more information, call Amanda at 940-536-8585.
