Northwest’s newest elementary and high schools will soon have names.

At its meeting Monday – delayed a week because of spring break – the school board will consider a committee’s recommendations to name the primary school Wayne A. Cox Elementary and the secondary campus V.R. Eaton High School. (V.R. was the father of Messenger publisher Roy Eaton).

The board will also name a principal for Samuel Beck Elementary School in Trophy Club. Its current principal, Deborah McCune, will lead the opening of elementary school No. 17.

There will also be a budget update and reports on quarterly demographics; monthly construction; “We Teach, We Learn” program; and district staff development effectiveness.
