All but one of the county’s eight school districts will give students the day off Monday to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday.

Alvord, Boyd and Chico ISD will release students early both Thursday and Friday of this week. Bridgeport and Paradise will have early release on Friday only, while Decatur, Slidell and Northwest will not have early release this week.

All but Alvord will give students a holiday Monday, Jan. 21. In Northwest and Slidell, the day is simply a holiday for everyone, but in Decatur, Bridgeport, Paradise, Boyd and Chico, Monday is either a teacher workday or a professional development day.

Alvord is the only district that will have everyone in school Monday.
