After a marathon session two weeks ago, the Decatur City Council agenda looks more normal for this Monday.

Reports, a few routine items and a quick adjournment.

In the opening work session at 5:30, Planning Director Dedra Ragland will follow up with the council on her department’s activities, variances and building permits. Public Works Director Earl Smith will report on a host of issues, and Fire Chief Mike Richardson is also due to give a report.

When the regular meeting starts at 6 p.m., things should go quickly.

The council will consider appointing Amanda Cross to a two-year term on the Planning and Zoning Commission and will consider a request from Helen Cunningham of Joy Academy to hold a Christmas Joy 5K run/walk on the square Dec. 20.

The final agenda items involve changing the Nov. 11 meeting date to avoid the Veteran’s Day holiday and accepting the quarterly investment report.
