A 21-year-old Edgewood man remains in critical condition at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth after a Saturday afternoon one-vehicle wreck south of Bridgeport.
Jacob Patrick Gentry was southbound on Farm Road 2123, about two miles south of Bridgeport, when he lost control of the white Nissan Sentra he was driving around 5:15 p.m..
Investigators said it appears Gentry overcorrected, and ended up sliding sideways across the road. The car hit and splintered a tree, then landed upside down in a brush thicket.
Gentry was extricated and moved to a nearby field, from which he was evacuated. Although details of his injuries are not known, investigators said they are “severe.”
