The National FFA Organization in partnership with John Deere awarded a $2,000 scholarship to Dalton Meadows of the Paradise High School FFA Chapter. This scholarship is from Ag-Power Inc. and John Deere Co. through a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

Meadows plans to use the funds to pursue a degree at Texas A&M University at College Station.

Ag-Power is one of the largest family-owned John Deere organizations with 17 stores in Texas, Arkanasas and Missouri, including one in Rhome.

This scholarship is one of 1,645 awarded through the National FFA Organization’s scholarship program this year. Currently, 127 sponsors contribute more than $2.1 million to support scholarships for students.

The 2013 scholarship recipients were selected from 6,116 applicants from across the country. Selections were based on the applicant’s leadership, academic record, FFA and other school and community activities, supervised agricultural or work experience.
