Local director to put on play for West

The Artisan Center Theater will perform “The Hiding Place,” the Corrie ten Boom story, Saturday, May 18, at the Wise County Heritage Museum theater to benefit the citizens of West.

Performances will be 3 and 7:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door or by calling Artisan Center Box Office at 817-284-1200.

Director Eve Roberts of Decatur said the museum has donated the use of the building, the publisher of the play has waived the royalties and 40-plus actors are donating the entire day to put on these performances. Several local actors are in the play.

All proceeds will benefit West and are being handled through Samaritan’s Purse, Bringing Relief to West, Texas.

“The Hiding Place” script and lyrics are by George Christison, and music is by Jeff Moore and Ted Smith. The script is based on the book by the same name, written by Corrie ten Boom with John and Elizabeth Sherrill.
