Input still sought on TAPS airport shuttle

Officials with TAPS Public Transit have again extended the deadline for Wise County residents to take a survey on the need for an airport shuttle service.

The original deadline was Dec. 15, and then it was pushed to Dec. 31. Sometime after the 15th the survey was inadvertently removed from the TAPS website, but Brad Underwood, TAPS’ chief executive officer and executive director, said Friday the survey is online again and will be up through the month of January.

“We’re collecting as much data as we can and trying to figure out about people’s travel habits and if they would use it,” he said.

TAPS already provides public transportation within Wise County, but this would be an additional service, providing transportation to and from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field.

Underwood said if they realize there is a need in Wise County, he’d like to have the shuttle set up before summer.

So far, only 90 people have taken the eight-question survey. It’s online at
