The National Forests and Grasslands in Texas is waiving day-use fees in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, Jan. 19-21, at several Day Use Areas, including the Lyndon B. Johnson Grasslands.
“Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a pivotal figure in the Civil Rights Movement and his charismatic leadership inspired men and women, young and old, in this nation and around the world,” said Mark Van Every, Forest Supervisor for the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas. “We hope you take this opportunity to visit your National Forests and Grasslands in Texas to help make your Martin Luther King, Jr. Day more memorable.”
Camping fees remain in effect, but day-use fees will be waived Jan. 19-21 at Black Creek Lake, Valley View and TADRA in the LBJ National Grasslands, as well as other Day Use Areas across the state.
