By Staff | Published Monday, July 8, 2013

The Decatur City Council will discuss a $261,500 incentive package for “Project Walter” when they meet at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall.

The project will be brought to the council by the Decatur Economic Development Corp., which uses a portion of the city’s sales tax revenue to help attract and expand companies that provide employment in the city. A memorandum of understanding is also on the council’s agenda after members discuss the incentive package and proposed agreement.

The council will also hold a required public hearing on the city’s 2012 annual drinking water quality report and consider a strategic planning agreement with Averus Corp. for the Decatur Public Library.

The meeting is open to the public. City Hall is located at 201 E. Walnut.
