In the wake of about 20 headstones getting overturned at East Side Cemetery in Bridgeport last weekend, the city council will discuss security measures when it meets Tuesday.

During the workshop at the end of its regular meeting, the council will also discuss water and foundation damage at the Law Enforcement Center, and the idea of establishing a sports authority to fund facilities such as a ball field complex or recreation center.

In the 6 p.m. planning session, city officials will discuss past and future plans for Northwest Park, which includes the Off-Highway Vehicle Park.

During the regular meeting, begins at 7, council members will consider an amended bulky waste ordinance to prohibit construction materials and non-household items in addition to already-excluded hazardous waste. They will also hear the annual report from the city’s legislative services department, which includes elections, public information requests, records management and city council agenda coordination.

They will consider a special exception for a sign that exceeds the maximum gross surface area for property in the 400 block of U.S. 380, the future location of O’Reilly Auto Parts.
