For the second time in less than two weeks, the Chico School Board will be asked to hire a principal for the upcoming school year.
The board will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 150 of Chico Elementary School, 1120 Park Rd., to consider Superintendent Mike Jones’ recommendation to employ an elementary principal.
Jones said Colleen Netterville, who has been principal at the school since the middle of the 2011-2012 school year, has accepted a job with another district. Jones added that his recommendation will be for a long-term position and not an interim.
Last Monday, the school board hired LaJuan Foster to serve as interim principal at the middle school for the 2013-2014 school year while the district searches for a long-term replacement.
The vacancy was created when the district moved former middle school principal Maury Martin to the federal programs director/district testing coordinator/No Child Left Behind compliance position.
