For the second straight meeting, Northwest ISD assistant superintendent for facilities, planning and construction, Dennis McCreary, will take center stage before trustees Thursday to present an implementation schedule – this time for 27 projects covered by the 2012 capital bond program approved last fall.
The meeting was moved from the regular fourth Monday due to board training and is to begin with a closed session at 6 p.m. to discuss a couple of items, including the annual contract extension for Northwest ISD Superintendent Karen Rue.
During the regular meeting, the board will vote on that matter, along with accepting a $2,863,591 guaranteed maximum price to upgrade the Northwest High School practice field to a subvarsity field to alleviate scheduling conflicts for the district’s junior varsity and middle school athletic events.
Trustees will also discuss adding College Physical Education and global business classes to the 2013-2014 course guide they approved at the last meeting; the first collection of gifts to the district; and the annual review of the district’s strategic plan, which was approved in February 2010.
Chief Financial Officer Jon Graswich will present reports on the December financials and five-year forecast, and the board will also hear a report on safety and security effectiveness in the district.
