Last month, the Chico school board adopted a budget. Now it’s time to approve a tax rate.

Due to a paperwork delay with the Texas Education Agency, Chico school trustees were not able to adopt the tax rate at last month’s meeting. They will consider adopting a tax rate of $1.2581 per $100 valuation at a meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, in Room 150 of Chico Elementary School.

The proposed tax rate would be about a penny higher than the 2012-2013 school year’s tax rate.

Also Monday, the board will consider designating 4-H activities as extracurricular school events, designating Wise County Extension agents as adjunct staff members and reviewing district goals for the 2013-2014 school year.

Following the meeting, trustees will attend Team of Eight board training in the elementary library.
