A special meeting of the Paradise ISD board of trustees has been called for 6 p.m. Monday, March 25.
On the agenda is a discussion, and possibly a decision, on who will fill the post of Athletic Director after the recent resignation of longtime AD Danny Neighbors.
PISD Superintendent Monty Chapman said he had hoped to move forward with the process during Monday’s regular meeting, but things weren’t ready.
Those in attendance Monday had hoped to see a decision as well. Nearly every seat in the boardroom was filled as Matt Edwards, pastor of Faith Community Church, spoke during the public comment portion of the agenda, asking the board to “give our coaches a fair shake.”
The board had also planned to discuss pay grades of professional and paraprofessional employees, but Chapman said that item had to be removed from Monday’s agenda since he is still researching.
The board did approve a $609 budget amendment that moved funds from one area of the budget to another. The board also approved new textbook certification and a district policy update.
The next regular meeting is slated for Monday, April 15.
