Two women were flown to Fort Worth hospitals, and four more were injured in a Sunday accident southwest of Boyd.
Maria Mingura, 60, of Hollis, Okla., was northbound on Farm Road 51 South in a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban when she drove through the intersection at Texas 114, according to Department of Public Safety Trooper Adolfo Patterson.
“When she approached the intersection, she didn’t stop and went straight through,” Patterson said. “They hit the embankment and came to rest facing north in an open field.”
The accident was reported around 9:45 p.m.
Mingura was flown by air ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth. She was awake and alert at the scene.
The passenger, Cirenia Garcia, 37, also of Hollis, was flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Jesus Mingura, 56, was taken to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur. Jesus Salgado was uninjured.
Children ages 9, 8 and 4 were also transported to Wise Regional.
