Heather Marie Riley and Marvin Wayne Smith Jr. of Slidell were married Feb. 14, 2013, in a small, intimate family wedding at The Inn Above Onion Creek in Kyle. Justice of the Peace Beth Smith officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Claire Fortenberry O’Berry of Slidell and Steve Riley of Las Colinas.
The groom is the son of Tammy Walker of Slidell and Marvin Wayne Smith of Krum.
The bride wore a white satin, A-line gown that featured an off-the-shoulder neckline and side-draped bodice. A white-satin sash with beaded embellishment accented the chapel train, and she also wore a single-tier veil with beading and floral edging.
Maid of honor was Piper Riley, sister of the bride, of Santa Monica, Calif.
The bride attends the University of North Texas, where she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Tau Sigma and Alpha Chi honor societies and is on the President’s List.
The groom attended North Central Texas College and has worked for Weatherford International for seven years.
The couple will be the sixth generation to continuously ranch the land settled by the bride’s ancestors in Slidell.
