Of the approximately 1,500 people earning degrees from Texas Woman’s University during winter commencement, 15 were from Wise County.
Four separate graduation exercises were held Dec. 14-15 in Pioneer Hall on the university’s Denton campus.
Among those picking up their college diplomas were:

- Brenda Kirkland of Decatur, M.Ed. in teaching, learning and curriculum;
- April Mandel of Decatur, BS in kinesiology;
- Lisa Skaggs of Decatur, BBA in business administration;
- Jimmie Thapa of Decatur, MBA in business administration;
- Manoj Thapa of Decatur, BBA in accounting, graduating magna cum laude;
- Sherry Wright of Decatur, BS in interdisciplinary studies, graduating cum laude;
- Jena McBride of Paradise, MS in nursing;
