DHS grads win TILF scholarships

Decatur High School graduates Javier Cruz and Madeline Pena won Texas Interscholastic League Foundation scholarships for their participation and advancements in UIL.

Cruz won a $1,000 John Porter King Jr. Memorial Scholarship. He was a technician for the One-Act Play that advanced to state in 2011.

Pena was awarded a TILF Diamond Anniversary scholarship in the amount of $500. She competed in headline writing at the state UIL meet and in the state solo and ensemble all four years of high school.

Cruz and Pena graduated in 2013.
